GWS winery
Georgia wine and Liquor Co., Ltd. (GWS) is a joint venture established by the 1993 global famous liquor company paolleja company with local enterprises. It is the first group of independent brand wine companies established after the independence of Georgia and obtained a 6 million euro loan from the European bank for reconstruction and development. GWS is currently the largest producer of wine in Georgia (10 million liters / year) and grape distiller's (just) producer. It was wholly purchased by Marussia in July 2011.
Thanks to the support of the center for years in technology, information and personnel, GWS became the most advanced technology wine company in Georgia, the first local company to pass the ISO 9001 and ISO22000.
GWS has a 242 hectare own vineyard, with two brands of wine commander (TAMADA) and old Tbilisi (Old Tbilisi), including dry red, dry white, semi sweet and cha cha. The CIS countries, such as Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Baltic countries, have been sold to the main markets of World wines such as Europe, the United States and China in recent years.
